The Bald Eagle Commemorative Coin Program included three different coins issued in proof and uncirculated versions. The $5 Gold Coin featured a pair of  young eagles resting on a brand. The $1 Silver Coin featured a mature Bald Eagle in flight. The 50c Clad Coin featured baby eagles in their nest.

The coins were released by the United States Mint beginning on January 15, 2008. Sales officially ended in December 2008. Sales were relatively strong throughout the offering period. The coins remain popular due to the iconic subject matter.
