Recently both the American Eagle Foundation and the United States Mint have issued press releases announcing that the final day of sales for this year’s Bald Eagle Commemorative Coins will be December 12, 2008.

All three coins offered under the program are still available for sale. This includes the $5 Gold, $1 Silver Dollar, and 50 cent clad Half Dollar coins. Two individual packaging options have sold out previously. The two sold out options are the 3 Coin Set and the Young Collectors Set. While it is unlikely that any additional options will sell out, there is likely to be a sales bump as individuals purchase the coins for gifts or buy them before the official end of sales.

Also of note, the Bald Eagle Commemorative will be included in the 2008 American Legacy Collection. This is a limited comprehensive Proof Set offered by the United States Mint. It will included the 14 clad proof coins of the 2008 Proof Set plus the 2008 Bald Eagle Silver Dollar. The set will come housed in a special package and is priced at $100. These sets will go on sale October 27, 2008 and will only be available until December 12, 2008.
